The Capital of the World.

The City of New York, often called New York City or simply New York, or by its initials NYC, is the most populous city in the United States. New York City is located at the southern tip of the State of New York, one of the most populous urban agglomerations in the world. New York City exerts a significant impact upon commerce, finance, media, art, fashion, research, technology, education, and entertainment. If you ever lived in the city before you probably have some ideas about its fast pace which is the exact definition of the term New York minute.

NYC is situated on one of the world's largest natural harbors, the city consists of five boroughs, that means administrative sections, and each of them is a separate county of New York State. The five boroughs are– Brooklyn, that’s right, if you are familiar with black American culture and music and movies and stuff, that’s the place, Manhattan, the place where all the money flows in, and the place where the name wolf of wall street is whispered , Bronx, the birthplace of street dancing and hip hop culture, (if you ain’t got clue you better check out that first episode me and Emily recorded in SmethilyFM yo,)Queens, and Staten Island. There are millions of people living in the city, in 2015 the estimated population is 8.5 million, which makes it the most densely populated major city in the United States, and also the most linguistically diverse city in the world because believe it or not though, more than 500 languages are spoken in New York.

Where to begin exploring New York?
A newbie like you, which means people who have never been to New York needs a plan in Manhattan, and it often helps to call in an expert like me Professor Smeeth to tour across the city with you, from Wall Street to Central Park to the New York Harbor. If you are interested in going to the city sometime in the future, here are some of my recommended tours that helps you get to know the Big Apple better.

    Wall Street Tour
For a first visit to New York, why don’t you begin your exploration where the city itself began. New York City traces its roots to its 1624 founding as a trading post, now it becomes one out of three financial centers in the world. So there’s this place that you don’t want to miss on a trip to NYC - the Wall Street: New York City's most important economic sector, securities industry, and the headquarter for the U.S.financial industry .The Financial District is the oldest neighborhood in Manhattan—. Where did the name come form? Wall Street was once a literal wall at the northern edge of New Amsterdam that separated settlers from Native Americans. So you just take a 90-minute walking tour along wall street, explore the history of the Financial District, from the American Revolution all the way through to the modern-day stock market crashes.

    Circle Line Landmark Cruise
When first visiting New York, it might be hard to even picture Manhattan as an island. Get the full perspective by boarding the Circle Line for a cruise around the southern tip of Manhattan that will include views of iconic landmarks like One World Trade Center ,well, this tower is constructed after the attack on Sep 11th, 2001, the other tower is gone. It also cruises from the Statue of Liberty to the Brooklyn Bridge. This tour will take you about 90 minutes and it may cost you some money, from what I’m seeing here, it’s one awesome experience. BTW The cruise departs from Pier 83 on the west side of Manhattan in the Hudson River and sails south and takes a spin.

    Gray Line Night Tour
You’ve probably seen pictures of nights in NYC online, all the glaring neon lights on the sidewalks of Broadway, how about see it with your own eyes? Subways are efficient ways of maneuvering through Manhattan—but there are no views. So when the night falls, take your transportation back to street level by climbing aboard the Gray Line Night Tour, it’s a two- to three-hour bus tour that shows the electric nature of the city after dark. Bring the back ground music from my talk shows, you’ll blend in just fine.

    Statue of Liberty Tour
The Statue of Liberty is a colossal sculpture on Liberty Island in New York Harbor. The copper statue, designed by a French sculptor, dedicated on October 28, 1886. It was a gift to the United States from the people of France. The statue is of a female figure wearing a robe representing Libertas, the Roman goddess, who bears a torch and a tablet evoking the law. Now if you see very carefully on the cover, you ‘ll see inscription: July 4, 1776. That’s right, that’s the date of the American Declaration of Independence. The statue is an icon of freedom and of the United States, and was a welcoming sight to immigrants arriving from abroad.

    Central Park Tour
No visit to New York would be complete without exploring Central Park. It is an urban park in the middle-upper Manhattan, within New York City. Central Park is the most visited urban park in the United States as well as one of the most filmed locations in the world, with 40 million visitors in 2013. The Park was established in 1857 on 778 acres of city-owned land, but now it is 1.2 times as big as the Summer Palace in Beijing. Imagine how many attractions would be inside the park. You don’t want to miss some of the famous attractions such as the Arsenal, Blockhouse, Burnett Memorial Fountain and Fort Clinton. This is not some national park out in the wild, this is the the biggest park in NY, and only a few minutes walking from the skyscrapers in Manhattan, Just like XuanWu Lake in Nanjing, China.
